Each month, I pose a single question to a group of artists. Their responses become the starting point for individual exchanges, shaped by my reflections and subsequent questions. Although everyone begins with the same question, the conversations develop independently, allowing distinct paths, patterns, and differences to emerge over time.

The Shape of Thought does not begin with a hypothesis or seek a common conclusion. Through sustained exchange, it creates space for thinking to evolve and relationships to develop. What artists have in common, and what remains particular to each, are equally valuable to the inquiry.

Participants may respond in whatever form best serves their thinking: writing, photographs, drawings, diagrams, audio recordings. The exchanges unfold over twelve months, creating a thoughtful rhythm of question, response, and reflection.

These exchanges serve as my fieldwork. The artwork resides in the way I notice, connect, and compose from what emerges. Over time, the material may find expression in a book, exhibition, artist talk, installation, or another form.

Individual exchanges remain private as they unfold. Nothing from a participant's responses is made public without permission. I may share my own observations and reflections on the experience of the project without identifying participants or attributing their ideas or experiences.
